Juniperus conferta 'Blue Pacific' (Shore Juniper) - A more heat tolerant variety, the prostrate 'Blue Pacific' also excels on the coast. The soft bluish foliage densely covers the trailing branches. This groundcover grows to 1 foot tall and spreads to 6-8 feet. It can be planted in full sun to part shade and is drought tolerant. It is very hardy - to well below 0 degrees F and listed for use down to USDA Zones 5. The description above is based on our research and observations of this plant growing in our nursery and in our own and other Santa Barbara gardens.
